When we decided to publish Matt Hughes’ action-packed novel, Downshift, we knew it was one of those novels that would entertain from the first word to the last. It would appear this LibraryThing Reviewer agrees with four stars.

Sid Rafferty is a writer. He’s got into writing for movies, and got his fingers burned. Now he needs to write anything to keep his bank manager happy! In his quest to make some money, he ends up involved in some dealings with some dodgy people. This is the story of a web of intrigue.
Who is following him? Who’s arranged for his house to be turned over? A bent policeman? A criminal mastermind? All seem interested in his dealings with Griesel.
This is a good story with plenty of twists, turns and intrigue. It’s impossible to work out who is involved in what until the very last page. ( )
