And in-between all that …

I can’t begin to describe how good it feels to be back in the middle of writing a new novel.

Besides developing Five Rivers publishing venture by adding Deb Salisbury’s great new book Elephant’s Breath and London Smoke to our spring line-up; finalizing a deal to publish Paul Lima’s How to Write a Book in 60 Days, and working on the fall promotional tour for And the Angels Sang, I’m now solidly into my new novel From Mountains of Ice.

What’s it about? In a nutshell it’s about a man who thinks he has lost his honour, a cultural fantasy that looks like it’s going to be about 100,000 – 120,000 words. I’m so excited about this novel. It’s different from anything else I’ve written, and yet there are common themes that seem to crop up in much of what I write.

Had a great day writing today. 3000 words all told. Some very good stuff I think. But for the nonce my brain is satisfyingly numb and I’m going to go away and do something completely mindless for awhile like fold laundry, or scritch the cats, or, goodness, take a nap!
