June Book Signing

My book signing at Indigo, Richmond Hill went quite well on Saturday, June 28. Signed copies of Shadow Song and Recipes of a Dumb Housewife are now available at:

And the Angels Sang
My anthology of short, speculative fiction will be going to print in July, which will mean the next few months filled with proofing galleys, making corrections, and fussing over details. Very pleased with the new, final cover.

In September I’ll launch And the Angels Sang. There are 17 stories, from dystopia to utopia, written over the past 25 years. Some stories have appeared previously in publications such as On Spec and Sword & Sorceress X, while some make their debut.
I chose to divide the anthology into two sections to easily separate the more fantastical from the speculative.

At the moment I’m working toward a launch at Coles Books, Orangeville. That has yet to be confirmed at this point, but it’s all looking quite favourable.
New Imprint
With the release of And the Angels Sang, I’ll be launching my own imprint, Five Rivers. What this will mean is better discount and returns for booksellers; better pricing for buyers.

Some time in the fall I’ll re-release Shadow Song under Five Rivers, with a new cover I’m debating over, and updated typesetting.

I’ve uploaded both covers here for your perusal and opinion, if you would like to take part of my readership poll. Your opinion very much counts.

  1. Cover #1 seems better to me. However the title and your name is hard to see from a distance or amoung other books. I wonder what white lettering in #1 would do. I see it works well on #2. If you don’t mind, I’ll ask our graphic artist what he thinks. — Bro. Joshua
