“Our mission at Smashwords is to help authors and publishers reach readers,” said Mark Coker, founder of Smashwords. “We partnered with ScrollMotion to expand our distribution into the major app marketplaces.”

Through the partnership, ScrollMotion will create, promote, merchandise and distribute Smashwords ebooks as mobile applications, across multiple application marketplaces such as Apple’s App Store, the Android Market, and the HP App Catalog.
Revenue from customers buying and downloading apps to smartphones and tablets will reach $38 billion by 2015, up from $2 Billion in 2010, according to Forrester Research.
