Cooper Professor of Leadership and former Dean of the College of Business at Eastern Michigan University; Dr. Turan Senguder, Conference Chair and CEO The Journal of American Academy of Business, Cambridge; and Dr. Robert Runté, Keynote speaker; the International Business & Economics Research Conference, Beverly Hills Hilton, Los Angeles, June 2-5, 2010.

Five Rivers Editor and university professor Robert Runte, was one of two keynote speakers at the International Business and Economics Research conference in Los Angeles. At first glance, an education professor giving one of the keynotes at a business conference may seem odd, but Robert’s talk was on the “assurance of learning” process, which is a hot button issue for business schools these days. Robert talked about his experiences working with the Management Faculty on his campus to set up program evaluation for AACSB accreditation, including developing rubrics for evaluating student writing, presentation and listening skills.

(Robert also co-presented another paper at the conference with his wife, Dr. Mary Runte, on their research on the exploitation of professional workers.)
