Great Response in Orangeville
Yesterday’s seminar/signing at Coles in Orangeville was a resounding success! Membership from the Dufferin Writers Guild attended, as did others from the area, with mall shoppers stopping in and sometimes staying for the duration. Paul Lima kicked things off discussing the methodology behind his book, How to Write a Non-fiction Book in 60 Days, which was followed by me illustrating my similar practices when handing fiction. We then opened the floor to discussion, which was very intelligent, vibrant and engaging.
A book signing followed. Paul’s book very nearly sold out, which was great news indeed! And I sold a fair number of copies both And the Angels Sang, and Shadow Song. Even had a few customers ask when my next book was coming out.
The staff at Coles, as always, were stellar.
On a personal note, it was great to finally meet Paul after 16 years! We both commented that it didn’t really feel like we hadn’t met, which of course was quite true, given we have communicated continually via the Internet all these years. And working with him was a treat indeed. It was so easy to dovetail on his seminar. Very much look forward to working with Paul again in September when we’ll both be at Word on the Street.
Next month Paul will be at Chapters, Bloor & Runnymede, Toronto, Saturday, June 20, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. For more details you can visit Five Rivers’ Calendar. I’ll be at Bruce County Museum, Saturday, June 13, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
