An August Update

I am Hopeless I know, I know, I truly am hopeless at promoting myself, of keeping people up to date on what I’m doing. But mostly it’s because I’ve convinced myself no one’s listening. Now, that’s not meant to sound like a sucky-baby statement. Just being very pragmatic. It has been my experience with social media of any sort that mostly people aren’t paying attention to all the white noise out there, and my voice…

Update on Google AI narration

I knew there would be a glitch And there is. While Google’s AI narration platform is a slick and seemingly user-friendly interface, it would seem the audiofiles are not to the standards of ACX. Amazon’s audiobook producer platform doesn’t much like AI narration, and has flat out rejected the files I remastered (to meet ACX standards) because all audiobooks must be narrated by a human being. While I do believe audiobook producers, good ones, certainly are worth every dollar you pay them, for most of us indie…

Caliban in audiobook

And we’re live on Kobo My first foray into recording an audiobook has been a success, at least partially. Caliban is now available for pre-order through Kobo and very soon through their other distribution channels: Indigo, Walmart, BOL, and Booktopia, and officially releases January 1, 2022. The audiobook runs 7.3 hours, and retails through Kobo for $6.00, which is pretty much a bargain. When will Caliban be available on through Amazon’s channels? Well, that’s a very good…
